A Note from the Director

The holiday season does something to me when it rolls around. It illicits memories of gifts, lights, and carols, oh my! It brings out my inner child, specifically. It brings me back to celebrating when school was snowed out, and brings me feelings of wanting to be the most generous person I can be.

As I grew older, I think the temptation was to forget those nostalgic moments of my youth and focus instead on the concerns of adulthood: always feeling busy, debating when it's the right time to put up decorations, and realizing that there’s never a shortage of things to do as the year winds down.Yet, I’ve come to realize that none of these things are truly at the heart of the holiday season. At its core, generosity and kindness reign supreme.

In fact, I would argue that this is what makes the story of Ebenezer Scrooge so compelling. There’s something deeply cathartic about watching his story unfold. My hope is that watching this production will make you discover what makes audiences keep returning back to Dickens' classic tale.

"A man is at his finest

towards the finish of the year;

He is almost what he should be

when the Christmas season is here..."

-Edgar Albert Guest

Thanks for coming out to see the show! I wish you a Merry Christmas and God bless us, everyone!

- Ke'Lab Bauchahmp, Director
